Weta Workshop have revealed their upcoming Xenomorph Mini Epic figure.  I remember seeing this teased a few days ago with little more than a line of text on Facebook and figured a proper announcement was forthcoming very soon.  So, here it is.

Here’s what Weta Workshop has to say about This item, “Forty years ago, director Ridley Scott’s masterpiece of science fiction, Alien, burst onto the big screen, spawning one of the most iconic film franchises of all time.To celebrate the 40^th anniversary of Alien, we’re thrilled to unleash the Xenomorph into our Mini Epics mix.This highly stylised figure stands at 6 inches tall and should be displayed safely away from small, furry things.”

You can tell it was made at Weta – it has Gollum’s feet. Anyhow, this chunky chap can be pre-ordered now for US$29.99.  No release date is yet available but more information can be found on the company’s product page for this item.

Prime 1 Studio is releasing a highly detailed wall hanging based on the Xenomorphs seen in James Cameron’s 1986 movie, ALIENS.

This upcoming limited edition 20×12 inch polystone wall hanging piece features 6 highly detailed Aliens posing in an almost symmetrical formation and it looks amazing.

It will be available from Sideshow Collectibles later this year but you can visit their product page to place your pre-order for this item now. The price is US$699.

It looks like The Loyal Subjects will be releasing new ALIENS figures featuring popular USCM characters Ripley, Newt, Hudson, Vasquez, and Bishop along with some Xenomorphs. All with accessories and collector cards, by the looks of it.

The Loyal Subjects is expected to be releasing this neat little set of ALIENS item sometime in May, 2019. More information about this and other upcoming releases about books, posters and other ALIEN related goodies via an Official ALIEN UNIVERSE announcement.

A new 1:6 scale action figure of the PROMETHEUS android, David 8 will be landing very soon.  This item is coming from King of Figures and wears the moniker of ‘Creator-08’.  Included in the package is a great assortment of alternate parts and accessories.

Along with additional body parts,shoes and stitched cloth attire, Creator-08’s other accessories will include a 2 piece Engineer mutagen container, some Engineer mutagen accelerant inserted inside, a diorama base for the container and a figure stand.

This product is now available for Pre-Order from One Sixth Outfitters and the estimated Release Date is 1st Quarter, 2019.  So, expect this version of our favourite delusional android with dubious Grand plans of Creation to become available very soon.  Price is expected to be $US179.99.

This looks sweet.  Funko have announced their full range of product line for their ALIEN 40th Anniversary range of merchandise.  Included in this range is an exclusive version of Ripley holding Jones.  Also included in this upcoming release will be new versions of the Alien and Ripley along with keychains and other goodies.  More after the break.

Toyark have posted a sweet gallery of images featuring upcoming release by Hiya Toys’ ALIEN Covenant’s main creatures, the pallid Neomorph and obsidian Protomorph.  Images appearing in their gallery also include packaging for the figures along with close ups.  Very tasty stuff.  These look great at such a small scale and not much bigger than the height of a cigarette standing on end. These 3.75 inch range figures each feature interchangeable parts including heads and hands along with display stands.  They are expected to ship in late March.  Here’s some pre-order details via Amazon:

Earlier this week I made some general updates on the page dedicated to Kenner bootleg action figures.  I believe it’s fitting the accompanying page dedicated to various other bootleg items also receives some love and attention.

To this goal, this update mostly consists of adding some new photos and various small details to figures already appearing on the page.  I’d like to thank El Rarámuri Urbano for his photos in this update on bootleg aliens. I’m always on the lookout to post more of this crazy stuff so your contribution is very welcome.  Thank you, Sir.

Details have been posted on the FYE online store to pre-order FUNKO’s upcoming 40th Anniversary POP! figures of the Alien and Ripley in her white Narcissus compression suit.

Release date is anticipated to be March 10, 2019 but this estimated date is ‘subject to change’ – as expressed by FYE.  It’s nice to see the ’40th Anniversary’ logo taking prominent place on packaging now.  We’ll be seeing more of this graphic in coming months.

Here’s some welcome goodness coming our way from publisher/toy manufacturer, TITANS. A new version of the ALIENS Queen figure is upon us. News of this charming little 6.5 inch vinyl item came our way via instagram. Isn’t she sweet? …and adorable?

“We love TITANS”. Yes. We do! Here’s what TITANS have to say about their stumpy new iteration of the Alien Queen, “Available in the US at Hot Topic right now and coming soon to www.entertainmentearth.com and to www.forbiddenplanet.com in the UK & Europe” There’s also a rotating video showing off the figure in full 360 degrees of splendor, including a demonstration of the select glow in the dark features which make it look like some demonic Cheshire cat when the lights are turned off. Gotta love that.

I’ve been able to acquire some excellent examples of weird ass junk lately. Being cheap helps a lot while I consider the next stage in moving house and work on other Projects. To this end I have added a set of 5 genuinely tragic samples of dubious action figures to this site’s area dedicated to Knock Offs, Bootlegs and other Illegal Aliens.

These 3 inch tall abominations are the usual low grade quality we have come to expect from manufacturers of unidentified origin somewhere in Mexico. Along with a pair of Aliens, you will also discover a couple of Predators keeping them company. Aren’t you lucky you received an invite to this party?

Go check out these fine examples of awful production quality gone wild and try not to break out into hysterics while you’re at it, OK?

Funko! have announced pre-orders are now available for their upcoming Specialty Series release of their 40th Anniversary POP! ALIEN figure, finished in metallic blue.

I’m not a fan of the Funko! stuff but this does look neat. Nonetheless, this item is being released in March, I guess that’s about 8 weeks away now

Sideshow Collectibles have announced the latest addition to their long running, wide range of high end collectible goodies.

Aside from this image, there doesn’t appear to be any more details other than what they have to say about it, which isn’t much. “Sideshow’s Alien Mythos Legendary Scale™ Bust is coming next in our line-up of Alien collectibles!” No dimensions or pricing is available yet but you can visit Sideshow Collectibles’ page featuring the announcement of this item.

Normally I’ll just post about toys and action figures. Stuff made from plastic, usually. On occasion I will also indulge in posting neat stuff made from other materials, too, like this fantastic custom plush Alien.

Recent movies will have you believe the rogue android, David 8, created the Alien but today’s piece of unique xenomorphic creativity is made from gingerbread. Nonetheless this astonishing food sculpture by Caroline Eriksson is made of dough, prompting my response, “Look on my gingerbread works ye hungry and drool!”.

Anyway, go check out the Reddit discussion regarding this tasty terror.

In closing this News post, I’d just like to request to NECA, how about a ‘gingerbread’ tribute action figure sometime in the future? Who wouldn’t want one of these in their collection, even it was only 9 inches tall?

Just in time for Christmas; and a continuing work in progress is the site’s exploration of the oddities and curios found in the ALIEN bootleg market place. Largely consisting of pirated and unlicenced product, this section of the site has been expanded and added to.

New additions to the section now include items released by Chap Mei, Wing Sang along with other lurid pieces of questionable quality. This section is getting large now so it’s been split into two. Part One: Kenner derived pirated stuff; and of course, Part Two: Imitation product, much of which I have added today.

Have fun with this batch of oddities and after looking at these pieces of lurid junk you’ll probably never look at another ALIEN action figure the same ever again.
