In lieu of any Facehugger Friday announcements – largely attributable to the New York Toy Fair – NECA have belatedly provided some images of their upcoming range of 1990s inspired retro themed ‘Alien and Predator Classics’ action figures.  Reminiscent of Kenner toys of the period, these items look to include action features and accessories accompanying the highly stylised imitations.  First Alien to be released is ALIEN: Covenant’s Neomorph.  An odd but welcome choice.

Here’s what NECA have to say about these items to be released at the end of the year “These sturdy 5.5” figures evoke a simpler time when action figures were tossed in the bucket to go to the beach, or left strewn across the stairs for parents to trip over. The debut figures in the line are Berserker Predator, which has a removable mask, and Neomorph Alien, which comes with a baby Neomorph.”

ALIEN’s 40th Anniversary is definitely gaining traction with this this announcement.  Well, for fans of action figures, anyway.  Toyark have posted a gallery of images showing off some of NECA’s upcoming figures spotted at this year’s New York Toy Fair.

Included among the images of Predators, Kenner tribute items and ALIEN Resurrection figures can be found some images of Parker, the ship’s engineer from ALIEN.

This is the first time Parker has been represented in the 7 inch scale by NECA and boy, is he a welcome sight.

No pricing details are available just yet but a tentative released date of “Q3 and Q4” as described on the display card accompanying the figure seen at NYTF 2019 is expected.  For now, just go enjoy Toyark’s gallery of assorted monstrosities.

NECA’s website now displays product information along with over a dozen images featuring their upcoming ALIEN Resurrection Newborn action figure.This brute looks enormous!  Here’s what NECA has to say about this ‘abomination’, “The Newborn action figure stands approximately 11” tall and includes a display stand. The Newborn features a screen-accurate sculpt and almost 30 points of articulation. This deluxe figure comes in display-friendly window box packaging with opening flap.”

The weekly Facehugger Friday reveal has come and gone and with it NECA have been kind enough to share this new image of a pair figures appearing in their upcoming range of AvP arcade game inspired items.

Here we see Lt. Linn Kurosawa facing off against a Razor Claws Alien. Personally, I think she’s poorly attired for the task of slicing up acid bleeding space monsters but the recently dispatched figure in the background may be testimony to something else entirely. This image appeared on Twitter and is NECA’s accompanying comment, “It’s on!!! #facehuggerfriday” It may not be much, but we know they’re on their way.

More images have been made available to the public by NECA of their upcoming ALIEN Series 14 action figures. Today’s Facehugger Friday post on Facebook included over 20 images of Ripley 8 and Alien Warriors from the ALIEN: Resurrection set of figures.

While the Newborn figure that is part of this set is not included in these images, here’s what NECA have to say about both of these items “Ellen Ripley Clone 8 stands approximately 7” tall, has over 25 points of articulation and features the likeness of Sigourney Weaver. She wears the clone’s futuristic ensemble and comes with Draco Double Burner and Lacrima 99 Shockrifle accessories, plus interchangeable hands and a basketball. The Resurrection Warrior stands over 9” tall and is faithful to the Alien’s appearance in the movie. It features over 30 points of articulation, including a tail assembly which provides an additional swivel as well as having a bendable portion.” More information can be found on the NECA Facebook page.

These items will be sold individually in clamshell packaging and be available sometime in Q2 2019. More images after the break.

NECA have provided a full reveal of their upcoming creature pack in a Facehugger Friday announcement (Oddly enough announced on Tuesday instead). 4 figures will be included in the package. Along with three small Alien forms, Murphy’s pet rottweiler, Spike, will also make an appearance as part of this set.

NECA have posted full details on their website and here is what they have to say about this upcoming set of ALIEN 3 figures, “The set includes frequently requested favorites from the movie and is perfectly in scale with our line of 7″ figures. Comes in window box packaging and includes:

-Bambi Burster – fully articulated with bendable tail
-Queen Burster – fully articulated with bendable tail
-Queen Facehugger – bendable tail
-Rottweiler (with Interchangeable Heads) – Ball-jointed neck”

We’ve known this has been in the works for a long time and now NECA have given us a clear look at the major components of their upcoming ALIEN 3 Creature Pack on their Facebook page. Here as part of their weekly Facehugger Friday promotions we see the Dog Alien in its infant form, also known as the ‘Bambi Burster’ for it’s stance and general morphology; and the equally nascent Queen Alien as it would have appeared if the parasitic organism had reached full term and erupted from Ripley’s chest.

This pair of hostile juvenile quadrupeds does look neat. No information as yet regarding when they will be released and NECA have provided one of their shortest comments I’ve seen, stating “On the prowl for #facehuggerfriday”. So, I’m guessing these will be hitting store shelves – or roaming the streets of your local neighbourhood at night – very soon.

NECA, who appear to be the only organisation promoting content over the Christmas break have released a pair of images of their upcoming ALIEN Resurrection Alien Warrior figure on their Twitter page.

Not a lot of information right now except NECA tells us “The Resurrection Warrior is coming for you this Spring. #facehuggerfriday“.  So, notwithstanding any delays, we can expect this fellow to be released sometime early 2019. Not long now.

NECA’s latest annual release of their ALIEN action figure identification chart was released on Christmas Eve. It has been updated to include all of their ALIEN action figures to date, including AvP, Kenner tribute items and any convention exclusives. Also included in the chart are upcoming ALIEN Resurrection figures, Kenner tribute items and assorted other miscellany that is scheduled for release in 2019.

Here’s what NECA have to say about it, “We’ve updated our visual guides to include all announcements & releases to date. Both versions include all figures, with the second showing the updated card backer art! Each is available as an extra-large, 300 dpi JPG.”

What? A week has gone by already..? That went fast! Christmas must be soon. Time always speeds up when Christmas nears. Anyway, NECA have released a teaser image of their upcoming Ripley8 figure on their Twitter page.

Here’s what NECA have to say about this item. “Ripley 8, the third and final figure in our upcoming Resurrection assortment due Spring 2019. early test sample shown. Not Final”.While I’m not a fan of this movie, this test sample looks impressive. Looks like Ripley8 is going to be blessed with 3 accessories. A pair of rifles and a basket ball.

You know that scene where Ripley8 throws the basketball over her shoulder and scores a goal through the hoop? Yeah. Sigourney Weaver actually landed that shot without looking. So I’m happy to see the basket ball is included in this set.

For this week’s Facehugger Friday, NECA posted our first good close look at what the creatures from their ALIEN Resurrection series will be like.  This figure is 1 of 3 items included in their upcoming ALIEN Series 14 action figure set.

NECA provided this information in their recent tweet, “Let’s go swimming for #facehuggerfriday, testing the range of motion and head movement on the new Resurrection Warrior coming Spring 2019.”

Today NECA posted an image of work in progress of their upcoming ALIEN: Resurrection Newborn action figure on Twitter. Looks like the figure will be packaged in a gatefold box with window much like their recent ALIENS releases. 

NECA offer these details regarding this image: “A belated #facehuggerfriday gives you a look at this long awaited figure’s packaging layout. Bonus adjustable display stand included as well. Resurrection fans rejoice!”

The figure looks great even though the movie isn’t at the top of most fans lists. Let’s hope the display stand included with the figure is an improvement over NECA’s previously released shonky and mostly useless display stands.

The Newborn will appear as part of NECA’s upcoming ALIEN Series 14 action figure set.  It will be their first set of ALIEN: Resurrection action figures.  Characters expected to appear in this new set include the Newborn, Ripley 8 and a Resurrection Warrior Alien.

NECA have released an image that will comprise part of the clam shell package for their upcoming Kenner Snake Alien tribute figure.

It’s been a while since NECA have made any announcements on their Facehugger Friday Facebook page but this design for their upcoming Series 13, 12 inch long Snake Alien figure looks great.

Looks like a little scarcely more than 4 weeks to go before NECA releases their updated 1986 Ultimate Xenomorph ALIENS Warriors.  The new ALIENS figures will be released on October 29.

It’s good to see NECA are re-releasing these characters in updated format and include some accessories, items such as the smaller Alien forms are very welcome inclusions with this release.  Next month can’t come soon enough for these guys.  I don’t have either version of thes previously released characters (or rather, variants of the same character) so if you’re like me and missed ’em the first time around, this release is a good opportunity to add these specific ALIENS warriors to your collection.

NECA have posted images on Facebook of their upcoming wall mounted ALIEN trophy head.

No additional information about the availability of this item just yet but it looks to be 1:1 scale wall hanging of the Big Chap’s head.  An anticipated price tag of around US$300 is expected.  I am guessing this item will be available sometime next year as part of the 40th Anniversary of the release of ALIEN.
