Significantly is the Acid Green ALIENS figurereduced from US$174.99 to US$74.99. A discount of US$100 is a substantial drop. Also reduced is the black Super7 Classic Toy Edition with glow in the dark accents on the head. This item has been reduced from US$174.99 to US$99.99. Also a significant savings. Get one of each! At these prices, you’re practically buying 2 for the price of one, especially considering on initial release each of these figures originally cost US$195 apiece.
Super7 recently released their 4th blind box series of ALIEN ReAction figures.
It’s more of the same stuff dressed up in pretty colours, sure; but what does this new wave of 4 SPACE VILLAINS hold for you? Let’s find out in this review.
Looks like I’m not the only person out to review this pair of ReAction figures released by Super7 last month. Baptiste Coudert shares his appraisal of this new plastic pair in his brand spanking new video review.
Thanks for the review, Baptiste. This was very good, informative and enjoyable.
ALIEN Day has been and gone and Super7 released a pair of their latest retro themed ReAction figures to celebrate 40 years of ALIEN. It’s time for ‘Red vs Blue’ as Kane and the Alien once again become available in a fresh pair of figures to add to your collection.
ALIEN ReAction figures. Super7 keeps churning ’em out. We keep buying them. Is this latest pair of Kane and the Alien any good? Find out in this review.
Super7’s latest wave of 3.75 inch SPACE VILLAIN blind box figures are now available.
You can purchase these items direct from Super7’s webstore as individual boxesor if you are inclined to want a case of 12 boxes (Pictured above) you can do that, too. Each blind box contains one of four figures randomly packed but a case will ensure you will have at least one of each.
Big Bad Toy Store has pre-order listing for Super7’s upcoming 3.75 inch SPACE VILLAIN blind box ALIEN ReAction figures, Wave 3. The pre-order listing also reveals of what the blind box packaging will randomly contain. There will be 12 boxes per case.
Contents of each box could contain one of either of these concealed Alien ReAction figures: Acid Blood (black with green spots – Distribution: 3 per case.), Nebula Nightmare (translucent purple transition to clear – Distribution: 4 per case.) and Rage (red with black paint wipe – Distribution: 4 per case.). There’s a fourth figure, Ghost, present in the image and as indicated by the yellow silhouette it’s likely to be a compression suit item who’s presentation is currently unknown. Yellow is no indication of what it will look like but may be a hint. The name may also indicate a translucent finish. Distribution will be 1 per case.
These items are expected to be be available soon. That purple Alien will make some people I know in the ALIEN community very happy. Especially some women I know.
Thank you kthomson for the heads up on their upcoming availability at BBTS.
We already knew Super7 planned to release more Alien ReAction figures in their blind box SPACE VILLAIN series. Below the official promotional image was released today via Facebook.
The post was accompanied by the phrase “Next week”.
We know from previous reveals at events earlier this year Wave 3 was originally anticipated to be released in June. While next month is only weeks away it looks like release has been moved forward to “next week” and we can expect this new set of delightful little 3.75 inch horrors to become available on Super7’s webstore much sooner.
What exactly this set is comprised of has not yet been fully revealed. The ‘4x’ badging on the bottom left of the image suggests (I can’t read Japanese) this set will be comprised of 4 variants inside each case of 12 blind box ReAction figures. As this is series 3 as designated by the A-3 on the bottom right, we can expect the contents to exclusively be variants of the the Alien once again. We know one of the figures is likely to be a red and black marbled finish but this is yet to be confirmed. We’ll find out on day of release what the full range will consist of.
The release of this series will bring the number of different variants of the Alien to 22 in this popular ReAction figure format.
Super7 have revealed a pair of ALIEN ReAction figures they will be releasing to celebrate ALIEN Day, 2019. Featured in this release will be our slimy multi-fanged friend, the Alien; and Kane with his facehugger breached faceplate from Series 3. These items will be available in new blue and red themed figures with matching card art.
Here’s what Super7 have to say about this pair of special celebration figures: “A week from today (Friday – 4/26) is Alien Day 2019 and to commemorate LV-426, Super7 will be dropping these exclusive Alien ReAction Figures: First is the terrifying Xenomorph in a clear glitter space blue with matching card back. Then there is the doomed Nostromo crew member Kane in a horrifying red with matching card back. Both of these figures and their card art were inspired by the awesome original 1979 Alien concept poster art by Bill Gold that was not used for the film’s release.
These will be available online in the Super7 webstoreand at our San Francisco and San Diego stores. See you next Friday!”
No price was mentioned in the release but typically these items retail for US$15 each. The blue Alien with silver flecks is definitely a killer piece and its card art is fantastic! More pics below.
Super7 posted this image on social media yesterday. There was no information and no links accompanied it other than #comingsoonand #super7. Speculation is open.
There’s only one certainty this wavy retro styled image has to offer. It will somehow be connected to this year’s ALIEN Day, a celebration of all things, slimy and nasty from beyond the stars, taking place globally on April 26. Other than that, this teaser image could be heralding anything. As this is ALIEN’s 40th Anniversary, it’s enticing and curious.
I have my own ideas about what I would like to see announced. Could this be a 3.75 inch scaleReAction figure Space Jockey prop..? Maybe Parker, Lambert and Brett released on mass market black cards..? How about a ReAction figure accessory pack..? Maybe it’s a Nostromo play set..? It could be a Special Edition Ripley 3.75 inch figure wearing only her underwear..?
OK, so that last one was a joke; but I guess we’ll find out soon enough. It may not even be ReAction figure related. This will be an ALIEN Day reveal, I am guessing. At this stage, that’s the only thing I can be comfortably confident of.
Here’s my third and final review for Super7’s Wave 3 ALIEN ReAction figures. This is set No.2 and it features Brett and Parker’s debut in this popular 3.75 inch format.
…oh, and there’s yet another version of our galactic bug bear friend, the Alien. It’s a great set. I like it. There’s a lot to be satisfied with here – but it’s also missing in other ways.
It’s time for another review. This time let’s throw the spotlight onto Wave 3, set 3 of Super7’s USCSS Nostromo crew ALIEN ReAction Figures.
It’s not as feature packed as set No.1. It doesn’t have anywhere near as many accessories, either. What’s more, most of its content we’ve seen released before. So is it worth getting at all?
Super7’s Marine Ambush tribute figure was released in February, 2019. We’ve known about its development for a couple of years now and this version of the figure brings it to a total of 4.
I have reviewed it here on HIDEOUS PLASTIC. Is it any good? Will you want one..? That depends…
This charming brute arrived in the mail today. This is the Super7 ‘Marine Ambush’ figure and is the 4rth item in their ‘Super Size’ range of large scale ALIENS figures.
A complete gallery page for this item featuring over 30 photos and product information is now available for your inspection here on HIDEOUS PLASTIC. This figure marks the 13th tribute/derivative iteration of the Kenner Products toy which was first released almost 40 years ago.
While the Gallery page is now available to view, I will be posting a full review of this figure sometime in the coming days.
These little buggers just don’t seem to stop coming; and we now have our first peek at Super7’s upcoming wave 3 of their 3.75 inch tall ALIEN ReAction figures. This next series of SPACE VILLAINS looks to repeat the format of the most recent set and be comprised of 4 different figures, 1 each concealed within blind box packaging.
Once wave 3 is released, this will bring the number of ReAction Alien figures to a total of 21 variants.
Other than the red and blue figure seen here, no other details are provided regarding contents or ratio distribution. Other than the colour of the packaging, we can also determine the release date will be some time in June 2019. No indication of any price but expect around $10 per blind box.
Once again, I don’t know who is responsible for this image but I would love to provide appropriate credit if someone can provide such information.
Images have emerged online of prototype samples of Super7’s upcoming ALIENS range of ReAction figures seen at this year’s New York Toy Fair. It appears this set of 3.75 inch figures will feature 7 characters: Ripley, Newt, Bishop, Vasquez, Hicks and Hudson. …and a slimy Xenomorph modeled after those seen in the second movie.
It looks like some accessories will accompany the human characters. Ripley has her gaffer taped combination flamethrower/pulse rifle. Vasquez will tote her smartgun while Hicks is smart enough to bring his helmet and Hudson will enjoy an alternate head sculpt. While one is clearly visible in the pics, I’m hoping both of those male marines will be equipped with pulse rifles. It looks like Bishop is ‘torn’ in half, as per his encounter with the Queen Alien late in the movie. As to whether Newt is the benefactor of any accessories is still unknown. Of course, Xenomorphs don’t need accessories.
No release date or pricing information is available yet but it’s great to see these items finally going public. One other inevitable question remains: What kinds of con exclusives and other ridiculous and difficult to find chase figures will comprise this release?
Here’s some more images:
Normally I prefer to credit anything that appears on the site but no identity of Authorship accompanied these images. If these are yours, please let me know and they will be credited appropriately.
New York Toy Fair 2019 is happening this weekend and Super7 have provided a sneak peek of what they will be showing off at the expo. It sounds like a ton of stuff is on the cards for them. Well. Off the cards actually, as this image posted on Facebook and instagram displays a wide range of card backs sans figures. The exciting News is we finally get to take in our first real look at the card backs themselves for Super7’s long anticipated ALIENS line of ReAction figures..
It’s looking like Hudson, Ripley, Bishop and Vasquez are headlining the United States Colonial Marines and a new Alien Warrior Xenomorph will be along for the ride, too. This looks very promising and no doubt Hicks, Drake and maybe a couple of other USCM personnel will be available at some point in the future, too. Right now, though, this set of figures looks like it will be available to view at this weekend’s Toy Fair. Fantastic!
Oh, and that Masters of the Universe Mantenna figure looks crazy. I am hoping it has eye popping action like one of its earlier incarnations does.
No doubt we’ll know more about this line up of ALIENS ReAction figures as the weekend progresses.
Super7 have released a new Super Size action figure paying tribute to the 1979 Kenner ALIEN action figure. This item is completed in a bronze finish and stands 18 inches tall.
Here’s what Super7 have to say about it “The imagined successor to the 1979 Kenner Alien toy. Fully articulated, metallic snapping jaws (operated with a trigger on the back of the head like the original 1979 toy), and retro style packaging. The figure stands 18-inches and can also hang from its tail like the original 1979 Alien figure.”
This new ALIENS figure has been known about since early 2017 and finally the wait is over. Originally promoted at Toyfair in 2017 this figure was initially labelled with the moniker of ‘Marine Ambush’ edition.
This limited ‘Bronze’ edition is now available from the Super7 online store for US$175.
UPDATE: The blue card wave 3 ALIEN set is now sold out at the Super7 online store. If you missed out, you will have to endure the cruel savagery and brutal price gouging of an Ebay purchase if you still want them.
One lingering question has been floating around since Super7 released their 3rd Wave of ALIEN ReAction figures on blue cards at this year’s New York Comic Con: Will they be released on black cards to match the mass market runs of Waves 1 & 2 from earlier years?
It turns out the answer is ‘no.’ In a recent answer to this question on their Facebook page, Super7 provided a brief summary of details:
So there you have it. The Wave 3 ALIEN figures are now available on blue card NYCC Exclusive packaging (in very limited quantities) and also available in a trio of 3 packs from their online store. If you want the blue carded variety, you better be quick as Super7 states “Fair warning: There are less than a dozen of these sets left. Once they’re gone these versions will be discontinued.” in another reply on the same post.
Better get in quick if you want those super sexy retro colour blue carded figures.
Released earlier at San Diego Comic Con this year, this is Super7’s 15th iteration of their popular ALIEN ReAction figure based on Kenner made prototypes that never saw production. This ‘tribute’ figure Has since become a highly sought after Collectible.
Is this 4.75 inch tall figure worth all the ruckus and high prices it’s now commanding on Ebay since its release 6 months ago?
