Prototype Gallery Update: Space Marine Corporal Hicks

The latest and final Space Marine to join the current ranks of the growing Prototype Gallery is Corp Hicks.  The good corporal is accompanied by his exact duplicate making this entry into the gallery a double header.  They’re very difficult items to distinguish from each other but, yes. There’s definitely a pair of Corporals to be found in this section.

You can check out both Corporal Hicks prototypes on their gallery page.

I’d like to thank Scott Morrissey for his kind permission to use these images.

Hollywood Collectibles Group Alien Chestburster.

It’s a 1:1 scale figure of the torso rending Alien in its infant stage from Hollywood Collectibles Group.  I don’t know too much about this item as the site is in Japanese.  All I can make is what I assume to be the date, ‘2018’.  That’s it.  That’s all I know.

All the same, this bloodied piece of Nasty does look like a great iteration of the creature.  How much is it going to cost?  It’s yours for only …well, I don’t know how much really; just visit the site and figure it out for yourself.  Also, there’s about a dozen extra pics for you  to drool over.  Or bleed over, if that’s your preference.  lol.

Prototype Gallery Update: Space Marine Drake.

For today’s never ending update to the Prototype Gallery, it’s Private Drake, one of two Smartgunners of the ill fated rescue mission to LV-426.  The Kenner Drake figure is somewhat more accurate to his screen presence than some of his Space Marine companions and it shows in this hand painted hard copy prototype of the character.

Check out this prototype Drake figure in his surly glory right here!

Thank you, Scott Morrissey for this contribution.

Prototype Gallery Update. (Yep. Another one!) Sgt. Apone

Human characters may not be as popular as the Alien items, but no one can deny the memorable lines peppered with assertive tones delivered by Al Matthews in his role as Sgt. Apone in ALIENS.  Too bad the Kenner figure completely ignored the on screen character for their version of the action figure.  The only semblance between the two are the name, and a quote from the movie on to be found on the back of the ALIENS figure’s packaging, “Move it, people…”

Nonetheless, it’s a cool figure even if it shares very little with the source character it is base upon.   Here’s a few images of an incomplete prototype sample for Kenner’s 1992 Sgt. Apone figure.  Enjoy!  More coming.

Eaglemoss Alien Xenomorph Warrior

Eaglemoss have announced the availability of the 2nd item in their ‘Mega Special’ range of ALIEN figurines.  These items measure 30cm in height so they’re a decent size and this time around the creatures seen in ALIENS are being glorified in this scale.

“The beast is back! Inspired by the iconic creature’s appearance in James Cameron’s celebrated sci-fi masterpiece, Aliens, The Alien & Predator Figurine Collection is proud to present the mega-sized Alien Xenomorph Warrior Figurine.”  is what Eaglemoss have to say about it.

Limited to a run of 1000, the oversized ALIENS warrior is available so  get yours now!  You know you want to.

Ultimate Skate Park Villain

Q. What do you get when you drill a hole through a toy skateboard and attach an ugly toy that was originally cancelled in 1979?

A.  You get the Ultimate Skate Park Villain.  That’s what!

Just taking a small break from posting the flood of Kenner ALIEN prototypes I have waiting in the wings and I thought I’d whip up this little menace.  It’s a simple attachment of a Super7 ReAction figure to a toy skateboard.  Turned out kind of neat, huh. Continue reading

Prototype Gallery Update: Space Marine Bishop Android

Kenner took a lot of liberties with their version of Bishop for their ALIENS series of action figures.  Hey, it’s really the character in name only.  At least it looks like a robot.  It’s more like one of AvP2’s Combat Synthetics – but that game was released a decade later.  Maybe AvP2’s Combat Synthetics were based on this figure..?  Who knows?

Anyway, here’s a gallery of images of a prototype figure for Kenner’s Bishop Android.  Complete with a gun that looks like it resembles a gearbox pulled from the underside of a Ford F100.  Neat.

Prototype Gallery Update: Rhino Alien.

Our third Kenner ALIENS prototype added to the Gallery this week is the wonderful quadrupedal menace, known as the ‘Rhino Alien’.

Check out the images of this curious ALIENS Series 2 test shot of the figure on its own gallery page.  You’ll love it!

Once again, thank you Scott Morrissey for the image content on this page.  Too much wonderful stuff; and we can all be grateful for his preparedness to share it all with us!
