NECA will soon be releasing their 14th line up in their long running range of ALIEN action figures. Once these items hit store shelves, all 8 ALIEN and AvP movies will be represented in one way or another in NECA’s popular 7 inch REEL TOYS format.
Now it’s time to consider filling in some gaps. So here is my personal list of Top 5 ALIEN characters I’d like to see released by NECA.
Here’s some welcome goodness coming our way from publisher/toy manufacturer, TITANS. A new version of the ALIENS Queen figure is upon us. News of this charming little 6.5 inch vinyl item came our way via instagram. Isn’t she sweet? …and adorable?
“We love TITANS”. Yes. We do! Here’s what TITANS have to say about their stumpy new iteration of the Alien Queen, “Available in the US at Hot Topic right now and coming soon to www.entertainmentearth.com and to www.forbiddenplanet.com in the UK & Europe” There’s also a rotating video showing off the figure in full 360 degrees of splendor, including a demonstration of the select glow in the dark features which make it look like some demonic Cheshire cat when the lights are turned off. Gotta love that.
Ah! It’s time for another fine video review by Baptiste Coudert. This time he’s scrutinising Ripley 8 and the Newborn figurines from Eaglemoss.
I love Baptiste’s reviews. Pared right back to solely focus on what’s important – the figures and packaging. Simple. Effective. Straight to the point and without wasting time on talking heads and other trivialities.
It seems there’s been a lot of ALIEN Resurrection activity around here lately. Wasn’t this year supposed to be the 40th Anniversary of the first movie? Just wondering when it’s actually going to feel like it.
This pair of creepy crawly items appeared among our last Prototype Gallery Update featuring Kenner’s 1997 Newborn figure. I thought it would be appropriate to add them to their own page. Their owner, Steve Dwyer, agreed to take more photos of them and share them with us all. So here they are, now occupying their very own gallery.
This pair of facehuggers are test shots of accessories that accompanied the Newborn (Left) and Call (Right) as part of Kenner’s 1997 range of ALIEN Resurrection action figures. More images have been added to the site and can be found here. Enjoy!
More images have been made available to the public by NECA of their upcoming ALIEN Series 14 action figures. Today’s Facehugger Friday post on Facebook included over 20 images of Ripley 8 and Alien Warriors from the ALIEN: Resurrection set of figures.
While the Newborn figure that is part of this set is not included in these images, here’s what NECA have to say about both of these items “Ellen Ripley Clone 8 stands approximately 7” tall, has over 25 points of articulation and features the likeness of Sigourney Weaver. She wears the clone’s futuristic ensemble and comes with Draco Double Burner and Lacrima 99 Shockrifle accessories, plus interchangeable hands and a basketball. The Resurrection Warrior stands over 9” tall and is faithful to the Alien’s appearance in the movie. It features over 30 points of articulation, including a tail assembly which provides an additional swivel as well as having a bendable portion.” More information can be found on the NECA Facebook page.
These items will be sold individually in clamshell packaging and be available sometime in Q2 2019. More images after the break.
Today’s update includes 2 very different figures. The quality and features of both of these items range from the sublime to the ridiculous, from uniquely crafted to the poorly cast; and from the Beginning of the licenced production line to the End of a pirated one.
You will find photos of a test shot of the Kenner (Hasbro) 1997 ALIEN Resurrection newborn figure added to its dedicated page on the Prototype Gallery.
At the polar opposite, you can also find photos of a pair of bagged bootleg Kenner Scorpion figures added to the article dedicated to ALIEN Bootlegs and Knock Offs.
Each of them are amazing and represent extreme opposites of the Collector spectrum. Thank you Steve Dwyer for the use of these images.
NECA have provided a full reveal of their upcoming creature pack in a Facehugger Friday announcement (Oddly enough announced on Tuesday instead). 4 figures will be included in the package. Along with three small Alien forms, Murphy’s pet rottweiler, Spike, will also make an appearance as part of this set.
NECA have posted full details on their website and here is what they have to say about this upcoming set of ALIEN 3 figures, “The set includes frequently requested favorites from the movie and is perfectly in scale with our line of 7″ figures. Comes in window box packaging and includes:
We’ve known this has been in the works for a long time and now NECA have given us a clear look at the major components of their upcoming ALIEN 3 Creature Pack on their Facebook page. Here as part of their weekly Facehugger Friday promotions we see the Dog Alien in its infant form, also known as the ‘Bambi Burster’ for it’s stance and general morphology; and the equally nascent Queen Alien as it would have appeared if the parasitic organism had reached full term and erupted from Ripley’s chest.
This pair of hostile juvenile quadrupeds does look neat. No information as yet regarding when they will be released and NECA have provided one of their shortest comments I’ve seen, stating “On the prowl for#facehuggerfriday”. So, I’m guessing these will be hitting store shelves – or roaming the streets of your local neighbourhood at night – very soon.
I’ve been able to acquire some excellent examples of weird ass junk lately. Being cheap helps a lot while I consider the next stage in moving house and work on other Projects. To this end I have added a set of 5 genuinely tragic samples of dubious action figures to this site’s area dedicated toKnock Offs, Bootlegs and other Illegal Aliens.
These 3 inch tall abominations are the usual low grade quality we have come to expect from manufacturers of unidentified origin somewhere in Mexico. Along with a pair of Aliens, you will also discover a couple of Predators keeping them company. Aren’t you lucky you received an invite to this party?
Go check out these fine examples of awful production quality gone wild and try not to break out into hysterics while you’re at it, OK?
Funko! have announced pre-orders are now available for their upcoming Specialty Series release of their 40th Anniversary POP! ALIEN figure, finished in metallic blue.
I’m not a fan of the Funko! stuff but this does look neat. Nonetheless, this item is being released in March, I guess that’s about 8 weeks away now
Every now and again, I like to post something a little different. …and this is a little different.
This fine piece of dubious apparel is now available online from Pizza Party Printing. These T-shirts come in a wide variety of sizes and styles suitable for either gender. Here’s a word from Pizza Party regarding this fine garment, “Grab this new shirt with the two biggest morons in outer space on it before they turn your skull into a bowl for nachos! Designed by our own Jimmy Giegerich, this shirt comes printed on a 100% black cotton tee!”
Get yours now! Wear it with pride! Show the world stupid shit isn’t just restricted to this planet, alone! You know you want to.
NECA have provided images of how their Series 13 Kenner ALIENS tribute figures will be packaged on their Facebook page. They’ve shared the complete set of 3 figures, both front and back. These look fantastic to say the least.
This set of figures will comprise NECA’s interpretation of Space Marine Apone, the Scorpion Alien and the Snake Alien. All of these items were originally released as part of Kenner Products popular range of ALIENS action figures waaaay back in the 1990s.
Information provided by NECA is brief as usual but this time extremely welcome and useful for anyone interested in purchasing these items, “The final packaging shots for Aliens Series 13 are in! Get ready for these to ship next month.” You really don’t need much more information than that. I might pick up a Scorpion Alien at some point. I think that would be an ideal review item.
