Proof copies of Series 1 of Kenner’s ALIENS line of figures along with the A.T.A.X. figure from Series 2. These are final design samples for the 2D art used on the cards. These cards are all from the US release of the ALIENS figures.

Those proof cards are basically the final step in 2D pre-production for the product development and were never intended for retail release. Proof items like these are often unique but multiple copies can be printed for various reasons. Preliminary work such as typeface, design layout and fitting of plastic blisters along with other design components were finalised on earlier internal proofs prior to these cards being offset printed on card stock, similar to the approved retail product. 

It is also possible these proofs may have also been used to evaluate the die cut for the card’s corners and hanger tabs.
