This unproduced 8 inch 20th Anniversary ALIEN figure was to follow as a capstone piece to Hasbro’s 1997 ALIEN: Resurrection ‘Signature Series’ line of action figures and toys. It was intended to be the best Giger inspired Alien figure at the time of its development.
Extensive use of 2D and 3D reference materials were employed for accurately sculpting it including previous Kenner figures, garage kits, Giger’s Alien book and other print materials available in the day. The intended accurate finish was to involve multiple wipes of color on its surface. Had this piece made it to full production it would have been the most accurate depiction of the creature from the first movie since its release in 1979.
While the details upon the figure are unmistakably those of the original creature, the posture it has been set up in is more akin to the stances of the creatures appearing in the sequel, ALIENS.
