This run of the ALIENS Killer Crab Alien comprises a comprehensive and near complete prototype sampling of the development of an action figures made at Kenner, from it’s early concept through to a figure nearly ready for mass production.
Here is the original kit bash mock up to help conceptualise the figure. It comprises of various extraneous parts. Note the use of the facehugger accessory from other Kenner ALIENS is present on the head.
Below is a wax sculpt of the figure. The first pair of images are of the assembled character. The lower image shows the wax sculpted parts separated:

This run of figures offers a rare glimpse and valuable insight into the landmark design stages of a Kenner action figure. From it’s initial improvised conceptualisation, through the wax sculpted design of the figure onto its production and testing stages. Finally, on to the almost complete prototype sample very closely resembling the final form the figure would have eventually been mass produced as.
