UPDATE: Sold. This listing has ended and sold before auction.
If you’re searching for a 1979 Kenner ALIEN toy, you’re in luck! There’s one being auctioned right now on eBay. It also includes the poster – and it’s possible a box may also be included. Possibly. It’s a complete looking figure with a dome on its head and the crest on its back. It’s always great to see these two body parts are in place – even if the dome is placed back to front on the head. Hey, it’s an easy fix. It’s as easy as picking it up, turning it around one hundred and eighty degrees and then placing it down on the head in its correct orientation. It’s just odd to see it sitting in this queer fashion. Then again, it does highlight how ill fitting this smoky piece actually is and the vendor can’t be blamed for the poor construction technique Kenner used to fix it in place.
There’s also a poster included in the listing but unfortunately, it’s not in the best shape. Wrinkled and creased it also includes a couple of holes punched through it that look like it’s been chewed on by some vulgar and ungrateful arthropod. These holes will devalue it somewhat. So, instead of the B&W poster being worth well over US$100 it’s value is probably reduced to around a measly US$100.
The vendor’s description is brief at best, “In the original box. Excellent shape.” is all the description provided in the listing. It’s a description more suitable to a semi literate Twitter user than someone expecting top dollar for a valuable vintage toy. Unfortunately, there’s no images of the aforementioned box itself so some quick correspondence with the vendor to confirm this important detail is strongly recommended. Also keep in mind the vendor is claiming the condition is “…brand-new, unused, unopened…” which is completely erroneous. No doubt this item is worth well above the starting bid placed on it but would be wise to ask the vendor some questions prior to making any bids on this item.
