There’s a Kenner ALIEN toy for sale on eBay right now. The figure is broken, missing parts, needs a clean and possesses other issues. The auction for this incomplete, average condition at best sample starts at US$250. It’s nothing unusual at all, really. Sure, his severed arms are being held in place with a rubber band, his left foot is broken, there’s a jagged crack with glue residue on the slot in his back where the dorsal crest is supposed to be and he’s missing his dome. It’s just another normal day on eBay for one of these oversized ugly ass vintage toys. His jaw works, though; and his tongue parts are both present. He stands well, too; which means his hips aren’t loose. That’s a good thing. …but with bidding starting at US$250 in the middle of a pandemic driving most peoples’ concerns towards other matters?

This item is indeed donning a high price tag, even for a popular vintage collectible toy. At this price you can at least expect the arms to be attached and maybe have those other missing parts in place, too. Maybe. Certainly, multiple broken parts throughout the sample drive down the value of this figure. Nonetheless, it just takes one bid and he’s sold. It’ll probably happen, too. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one to witness the outcome of this listing. Too awesome, even if the going price for Kenner ALIEN toys found in this state is commonly around half the listed price. There is still a solid chance the vendor will get what he’s asking for.
