I really should have posted about these things earlier… Anyway, Eaglemoss looks like they have a fine series of ALIEN and PREDATOR figurines coming soon and available to customers on a regularly supplied subscription based model. A pair of iconic characters from all the ALIEN, PREDATOR, AvP and PROMETHEUS movies will be delivered each month.
The Big Chap will be the first figure available to subscribers. Thereafter, 2 figures each month will be posted as part of the subscription. These figures look like they will be in the 1/16 scale range with the stylised Big Chap standing at around 5 1/2 inches tall, hand painted and made of resin. The subscription rates look very appealing with this introductory figure being offered at a very reasonable US$9.95
Along with the regular subscription you will receive a cool selection of free goodies valued at $100. Well, I’m not sure they’re worth that much, but here they are. At the very least do look like they’re worth having as ‘freebies’ that’s for sure:
The figurines themselves look like a good solid selection of characters, human and non-human alike for subscribers to receive. I’m kind of looking forward to seeing these being released; well, a lot, actually. My problem is this offer is only available in the USA and UK. As I live in Australia, the decision is made for me and I’ll probably have to miss out or rely on Ebay or other secondary markets to purchase them.
Of the ones that actually appeal to me, I’d be interested in the Big Chap, the Runner, the Deacon and possibly the Predalien – the one good thing about an otherwise terrible movie – if Eaglemoss chooses to release one.
The only odd thing that occurred to me is the absence of any representation of Ripley. That is odd, right? It’s not just my imagination is it..? Either way, it looks like it will be a fine line up of figurines. So it should be, with such diversity present across all these movies, there’s guaranteed to be something to appeal to anyone who is a fan.
It will be interesting to see how Eaglemoss apply this treatment to the upcoming ALIEN: Covenant movie. You can bet their licence to operate with the property extends to providing us with their interpretation of Neomorphs and the new Big Chap. Man, who can afford to buy all this stuff?
Get yer Eaglemoss subscriptions now. That is, if you are fortunate enough to live in the UK and USA. Maybe Popcultcha will stock ’em in Australia. I frequently buy stuff from them and have been surprised what has been available there… I’ll have to investigate further, methinks.
