Super7 have teased an ‘ARRIVING SOON’ image of what appears to be a transparent version of their 18 inch Kenner inspired 1986 ALIENS action figure.

No additional information is available just yet but this item looks very promising.  Being made of what appears to be transparent material from head to toe it will probably show all the inner workings and connections of how these things are assembled without the need to take one apart.  This will be the third (or fourth, depending what’s released next) variant of this figure by Super7 and will be the 12th (or 13th) iteration in a long line of tribute and other derivations in the Kenner 18 inch tall ALIEN family, including the original.

I’m really stoked about this newly revealed figure.  As a transparent item, it will be interesting to see how the internal mechanism operates while being activated.  I’ve seen an image of an early transparent test version of the 1979 figure’s head which was used for engineering evaluation and testing purposes so I have a good idea what to expect here.  It will be interesting exercise to compare this items inner workings to that older Kenner inhouse engineering sample.

There’s still no word on Super7’s other Marine Ambush variant of this figure as was promoted at ToyFair earlier this year.  That will add another item to the increasing list of figures based on the notorious ALIEN item originally released in 1979.
