Super7 have made available all 9 characters appearing in Wave 3 of their popular ALIEN ReAction figure range in a set of 3 boxes. Each box contains 3 characters and can now be purchased from their online store.
Box 1 contains new iterations of characters previously released in Super7’s fashionable retro style. It includes new versions of Kane in his compression suit with a fractured faceplate and a freshwater lobster stuck to his face. You’ll also find a fresh take on Ripley in screen accurate Nostromo gear with one of the few accessories, Jones, the ship’s mascot cat. Ash is here, too. This time with a removable head and he’s covered in android fluid. Each of these characters, ‘cepting Jones of course, have already been released in previous versions.
Box 2 has a new pressing of Dallas in screen accurate Nostromo crew gear. We have the 2nd version of Lambert, this time also in Nostromo crew gear (Her first appearance in ReAction figure format was in a compression suit as part of Super7’s earlier 3 pack offering.). Finally, a bloodied version of the Alien. This version is the standard figure we have already seen released multiple times already, featuring a black casting with red spatter markings. Once again, fresh takes on previously released characters. Still great to see Lambert in crew gear with this set.
Bringing up the caboose on this trilogy of ReAction figures is a couple of very welcome additions to the Nostromo crew roster. Both Parker and Brett make their debut in this series and comprise the core human component of this package along with another bloodied version of the Alien. This Alien figure is the same color scheme as the item in Box 2 but boasts a variant head sculpt made to accommodate a more movie accurate toothed tongue rather than the previous flat tongue version present in all other iterations of this figure. Nonetheless, it’s a welcome item to tie both the humans into the one package. After all, Parker and Brett were the only 2 human characters in ALIEN to actually die from injuries sustained by a ‘headbite’ from the creature’s tongue. This is definitely a must have box; and if you choose to only buy one, then this is it.
Bonus situation be damned! While this variant brings the total number of releases of the Alien character by Super7 up to 17; it’s the first time both Nostromo crew members, Brett and Parker, have been released in this pocket size ReAction format. Fantastic!
These figures in their boxes look absolutely smashing and have been released to co-incide with Super7’s appearance at NYCC 2018 where the blue carded versions of 5 of these characters are being made available as Convention Exclusives. I Love the blue carded stuff being offered at the event but these 3 pack items are readily available to the public from Super7’s online store right now.
